testing...testing...

The blog is up and running and, in about 2 1/2 weeks, I will be too. Off to Syria this time, for 2 months of Arabic study at the University of Damascus, followed by a few weeks of travel around the region and a quick stop in London on the way home.

To give the blog a proper send off, I'll turn to one more quote from the original Miss Post, writing on a proper woman's behavior:
"She must not swing her arms as though they were dangling ropes; she must not switch herself this way and that; she must not shout; and she must not, while wearing her bridal veil, smoke a cigarette"

So here's to arm-swinging, switching this way and that, shouting, and copious smoking--but only while wearing a bridal veil, of course!
