back "home"
After another borderline disastrous day of travel (Note to Self, Friends, and Less-than-Competent State Department Travel Agents: schedule more than 2 hours for international transfers at London Heathrow) I am back in Chicago. Although 11 of 18 of us missed our scheduled London-NY flight, most of us made it on standby later that night. Thank god, since my NY-Chicago flight the next morning was so oversold/in demand that there were 40 people on the standby list. I'd suggest getting to the airport early if you've got any flights this summer...
I've spent the last couple days running errands, meeting with profs, and seeing former housemates' very spiffy new apartments. Louis flies in tonight and tomorrow we'll take off for Oakland. Wish us luck on the drive!

Much luck on the drive; I dreamt of you last night.

Luck!
it was lovely to see you em, however briefly. enjoy settling back in to california living!
Welcome back, enjoy the road trip (on 80, right? unless you're taking the scenic route). Nebraska seems to be bigger than the rest of the lower 48 put together.
Al-Hamdu lil-Laah 'alaa l-salaama! Wow, what a set of adventures. Give you mom a hug, and don'g let Nachos snack on you. And... btw... was it all worth while, on the Arabic front? Just wondering.
Cheers!
